Orientation training to Plant Quarantine Inspectors

Aiming to equip the Plant Quarantine personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure excellence in the performance of their duties, an orientation training of Plant Quarantine Inspectors on Plant Quarantine Operations was held last March 16-18, 2016 at  One Tagaytay Hotel Suites. Thirty-one (31) participants from various regional quarantine stations of the division attended the said training.

The participants were guided by the following references for the lectures: Overview of PD 1433 governing the Philippines Plant Quarantine System, WTO/SPS Agreement, Rationale of International Plant Protection Convention (IPCC), Plant Quarantine Mandate on Commodity Treatments and Import, Export and Domestic Procedures and Protocols. Then, evaluation was done to assess their understanding in discussing Plant Quarantine Operations. Lastly, certificate of participation were given to all the attendees. Indeed, the three-day training brought countless opportunities to the participants’ competency enhancement.
