Mid-Year Review and Planning Workshop of NPQSD
The successful Midyear Review and Planning Workshop conducted by NPQSD to evaluate the financial and physical performance of the different NPQSD stations nationwide.
The National Plant Quarantine Division (NPQSD) successfully held the Midyear Review and Planning Workshop last June14-18, 2016 at Bacolod Pavillon Hotel, Reclamation Area, Bacolod City. The event was spearheaded by Merle B. Palacpac-NPQSD Chief and was hosted by John A. Calumpiano-NPQSD Station 14-Bacolod. The workshop was designed to assess the financial and physical performance of the NPQSD and its respective stations nationwide.
The station managers presented their mid-year accomplishment reports to the evaluators of the review. The resource persons are Dr. Fe dela Cueva of Institute of Plant Breeding-NPQSD consultant, Maria Cecilia Flor-Budget Section representative, Lolita Masana-Database Management Section and Sonia Hernandez-Admin chief. Then, Ms. Palacpac gave her summary of observations and directives to address plant quarantine issues and administrative concerns.
As a result of the review and planning workshop, NPQSD agreed upon the following activities: re-aligning the Work and Financial Plan for 2016, monitoring of incoming agricultural commodities, strengthening the post entry quarantine and conducting capability building activities which includes NPQSD Planning Workshop, Basic Training on Plant Quarantine and Familiarization Training of Cassava Witches Broom (CWB), Fusarium and Huanglongbin for new and existing Plant Quarantine technical personnel. These activities aim to ensure efficient implementation of activities as programmed vis a vis fund utilization.
